Social media has really taken corporations to the next level. Before they had to rely on television or print media to get the message out. Now with Facebook marketing and other social media marketing, corporations are able to reach myriads of people on whole new levels. Plus, some of the work is now done for them. Before they had to rely on marketing companies to spread the word, now the very people that consume their products are also getting the message out via social media venues such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and others.

Renuzit TriScents is having a contest! One that I would love to win! My kitchen is very small. I would love to win the $20,000 to transform my small kitchen into a larger one. It actually wouldn’t be that hard because we have a room that is attached to the kitchen where we could expand. Right now, the refrigerator is in that room. Talk about inconvenient!
The kitchen is the most important room in my house, a gathering place for the whole family. If it doesn’t have a fresh, clean smell no one wants to be there! My whole house can tend toward a musty smell, but using Renuzit products has helped solve that annoying problem. It is easy to download a Renuzit TriScents Started Kit coupon and be on your way to a fresher smelling home.
To enter to win the contest visit Renuzit TriScents and read the official rules. All you need to do to enter is take a picture of the home you would like to remodel and write a short essay about why this room needs a makeover. Make sure you mention why Renuzit TriScents can help!
My friends are currently remodeling their home and they need some new fixtures and furnishings. I sent them over to directbuy to find a showroom close to them. DirectBuy is not an online store, but a members only showroom. You can find great discounts on furnishings for your home without the traditional retail markup.
If you want to try it before you buy, you can download a free visitor’s pass on their website.
I never wanted to see this film. I heard everyone talking about it back in the 70s and they told me the story was about a young man who has sex with a old woman. Not quite what the story is about. It is the story of a 20 year old man (who is more like a child) who is obsessed with death. He “fake” commits suicide in front of his mother several times, just to get a rise out of her. Harold also attends funerals as much as he can. This is meets Maude, a 79 year old woman who lives life by her own set of rules. They become good friends.
Harold’s mother is fed up with his antics and tries to get him to marry, but that doesn’t seem to work out. His mother than decides that he must enroll in the Army. Harold and Maude set up a scheme to get him out of enrolling which leaves Harold’s uncle thinking he is completely psycho.
Maude’s friendship changes Harold’s life and in the end Harold starts to enjoying living.
I throughly enjoyed this movie. It is very 70ish, but has a interesting message. You will need to watch it more than once to get the subtle images and their deeper meanings.
Best parts of the film.
Maude. She is a riot. This is the wacky grandma or spinster aunt that everyone wants.
Harold is a little stiff, but it plays well with the plot.
Harold’s uncle’s fake arm. Don’t miss the salute!
Sunshine, one of Harold’s “dates.” His fake suicide attempt in this scene doesn’t go over so well.
It seems that high fashion in Europe eventually makes it way to the United States. Sometimes that includes car accessories as well. A new trend in Europe, led tail lights, is making its way here and you can now buy custom led tail lights for almost any make and model of car. I must say, they are pretty futuristic looking! But, since I drive a mini van, I don’t think I will make the switch!
I have decided to dust off my old collections of movies that I loved growing up in the 60s, 70s and 80s and share a few of them with you.
The World of Henry Orient (1964)
Starring: Peter Sellers (Henry Orient), Angela Lansbury (Isabel Boyd), Tom Bosley (Frank Boyd), Merrie Spaeth (Marian ‘Gil’ Gilbert), Tippy Walker (Valerie ‘Val’ Boyd)
Plot Synopsis: Henry Orient is a concert pianist with a huge ego. Two of his biggest fans are 14 year old girls – Gil and Val. Gil and Val attempt to follow Henry all other New York City in hopes of meeting him. This causes chaos in Henry’s life until it is finally put to an end by Val’s mother.
My Thoughts: This movie is very entertaining. Peter Sellers does some of his best work in this movie. It would be a great remake with an updated cast and situations.
