Back in the 1960s, Westinghouse thought they would get into the contemporary furniture feel by creating a refrigerator that had custom panels. You could choose from Rattan, Supreme Walnut, Catawba Cherry, Astro-Glo Bronze and Surftex Black. Plus, you could make your own panels by measuring your refrigerator and using wallpaper or other paper to “customize” your look. I must say, most of these looks were really ugly. This is too funny! The beginning looks like a grade B slasher movie with her walking through the woods. I grew up in the 60s and remember this trend – every ad agency used the catch phrase “mod” – short for modern. Looking at it now – it sure is campy.
