Butch Patrick
Butch Patrick was born Patrick Alan Lilley on August 2, 1953. He is best know for his role as Eddie Munster in The Munsters.
Patrick did make several other appearances in television shows in the 60s including Mister Ed and Gunsmoke, as well as eight episodes of My Three Sons.
In the 1980s, he formed a rock band called Eddie & The Monsters. They released a single entitled “Whatever Happened to Eddie?” This song eventually lead to an MTV show - Basement Tapes - which featured unsigned bands.
Recently, Patrick appeared in an episode of The Simpsons as himself and on a episode of the reality TV show Star Dates.
He is currently the co-host of Macabre Theatre which showcases horror films. He is usually booked for Halloween parties and has been a favorite guest on the Howard Stern show.
Unfortunately, he receives no residuals from The Munsters. His biography will be published in 2007.

You mentioned that he didn’t get any residuals. Did the other cast members? Was it because he was a child, or just poor management?
I’m adding your blog to my Yesterday’s Memories links, and I hope you will add my link to your list. We are a good fit with each other, aren’t we!

January 21st, 2007 at 11:08 pmPat Priest once mentioned that she received “some” residuals but they ended after about two years from the taping of the last show. It was not common in the 1960s for Sitcom stars to receive residuals. They probably didn’t realize the impact their shows would have on latter generations.
I have added you on my sidebar! Great site!
January 22nd, 2007 at 9:41 amHi,
I represent many Classic Television Stars from the 60’s including Butch Patrick.
If you are old enough to remember back then, there was no cable, TVLand, VHS or DVDs. The shows aired originally in the fall and were repeated in the summer. The contract were written for that time. So they received residuals for a few reruns and nothing more.
The major studios in recent years have been releasing these shows on DVDs and also getting licensing revenue from cable channels such as TVLand as well as for merchandise. The actors get ZERO. Unfortunately there is no reason for the studio to renegotiate these old contracts. Why would they pay the actors when contractually they do not have to. It is always about the bottom line.
We have however in rare cases received payments for extras on the DVDs. Some studios do not provide extras. The fans buy the DVDs whether there are extras or not, so why spend the money, is there line of thinking.
Fortunately we are a lot smarter today and do not sign contracts that allow the studios to use the actors likeness in any and all media yet to be developed. They put this clause into the contract and we cross it out.
I hope this helps to explain the situation.
